What Happens When ...

Supersectionals

A single dropdown: One supersectional game required: the dropdown vs. winner of that Class Sectional, winner to Class Regional.

Two dropdowns: One supersectional game required: lower seeded dropdown vs. winner of that Class Sectional, winner to Class Regional; higher seeded dropdown advances to Class Superregional as a carryover.

Three dropdowns: Two supersectional games required: lowest seeded dropdown vs. winner of that Class Sectional, winner to Class Regional; other two dropdowns face each other, winner to Class Superregional as a carryover.

Superregionals

A single dropdown OR a single carryover: In either or these two scenarios, one Class Superregional game is required: the dropdown or carryover vs. the winner of that Class Regional, winner to Class Semistate.

Two carryovers OR two dropdowns OR one dropdown and one carryover: In any one of these three scenarios, one Class Superregional game is required: the carryover or lower seeded dropdown vs. the winner of that Class Regional, winner to Class Semistate; the other carryover or dropdown advances to the Class Supersemistate as a carryover.

Three dropdowns OR two dropdowns and one carryover OR one dropdown and two carryovers OR three carryovers: In any one of these four scenarios, two Class Superregional games are required: one team vs. the winner of that Class Regional, winner to Class Semistate; the other two teams face eother, winner to Class Supersemistate as a carryover.

Supersemistates

A single dropdown OR a single carryover: In either of these scenarios, a single Class Supersemistate game is required: the dropdown or carryover vs. the winner of that Class Semistate, winner to Class State Finals.

Two dropdowns OR two carryovers OR one carryover and one dropdown: In any one of these three scenarios, two Class Supersemistate games are required: one team vs. the winner of that Class Semistate, the other team against the winner of the opposite Class Semistate, both winners to the Class State Finals.

Two dropdowns and one carryover: In this very rare scenario, there are three Class Supersemistate games -- one on Tuesday and two on Thursday, with the two surviving teams advancing to the Class State Finals. The Tuesday game matches the carryover team against the lower seeded dropdown; on Thursday, the Tuesday winner plays the winner of that Class Semistate and the higher seeded dropdown plays the winner of the opposite Class Semistate.
